OUR SAFARIS
We offer two types of Safaris:
- Discoverer: visit Karamoja and its wild areas, track animals on foot, discover places no-one has visited in decades, see Kidepo National Park as we tour it when we are working - which means looking for things that totally escape the tourists, and interact with the local communities as we proceed through our journey.
- Explorer: participate in our animal surveys, poaching-control patrols, get acquainted with the many challenges of wildlife and ecosystems management in such a vast area, learn the basics of big game hunting and its role as a management tool, and how to deal with dangerous animals in their environment, explore incredibly beautiful places that have always been outside the tourist circuits.
Accommodation is in comfortable hotels in Kampala and wherever available en-route, and in tented mobile or fixed camps in Karamoja. We do spend a lot of time in the bush ourselves, and take care to have all the comfort available whenever possible: we have hot showers and a camp cook even when fly-camping overnight with just the gear onboard the 4x4 vehicle - and when circumstances dictate, we do the best with the cards we are dealt with!
Due to the very nature of our safaris, the unexpected has to be expected, and plans can be changed as new opportunities arise along the way.
Duration
Durations are 10 and 14 days. Consider that 3 days are spent travelling to- and from the area, road trips during which you will have the opportunity to discover other parts of Uganda along one of the several routes we can take. Air charters are available if you want to spend more time in the wild areas.
We will discuss the details with you, the options are many and we are totally flexible: your wishes will all be considered, and we'll work out an unforgettable experience!
